TACOS!

There are no words to describe how much I love tacos! Honestly after the invention of bread, I believe the tortilla was the second greatest invention. Know I could go on to create sonnet dedicated solely to my extreme love for these beef, cheese, and sour cream filled delicacies, but I have homework to do so I'll keep this post brief. If you are taco lover I strongly recommend you try this recipe! It fast, easy, and most importantly its cheap!

Calling all Pasta Lovers!

There is no question that pasta is delicious no matter what formed it's consumed, but nothing beats good ol' mac and cheese! I know that being college students we have a tendency to eat the same thing a lot, who could blame us. I mean we have papers to write, books to read, projects to do, so we sacrifice our health for a quick fix meal of Stouffer's, Lean Cuisine, or nasty dinning hall pizza just so we can have more time in the day to do what needs to be done. I'm not exempt from this, sometimes I even go beyond this and skip meals entirely just to create more time in my day. As I have previously stated I love pasta and I have found a quick easy way to make Mac & Cheese in a little over 15 minutes! So now you can eat a good meal and still have time to do all your homework! All it takes is the following ingredients!

CHEESE & MILK!

Salt & Pepper

Flour

Pasta

Panko (or breadcrumbs)

There's Nothing Bland About Turkey Salad

If your family is anything like mine then that means that you have more leftovers then you could possibly ever eat. Well I for one had been eating turkey for 3 straight day and honestly, I was getting very tired of it, so I decided to make a turkey salad. You have all heard of chicken salad right? Well its the same thing only with a different meat. The great thing about this salad is that you can eat it with fruit, in a sandwich, or by itself. You really can't go wrong with it. Plus its a great way to recreate another meal from your leftovers to ensure that you don't end up wasting any of your (or your parents) hard earned money. All you need is the following ingredients!

Turkey

Celery, Celery Salt, and Pickels

Curry, Mayonnaise, Mustard, Pepper, and 1/2 a Lemon

WE ALL SCREAM FOR SMOOTHIES!

Today while I was at the store I came across a section in the produce aisle that was dedicated to blackberries! I wish I could show you my reaction but for the most part it went a little something like this "ERMAHGERD! BERCKBERRIERS!" I kid you not, this is was my actual reaction. My mother, who shopping along my side, walked away from me with that "I don't know you" face. Anyway so I ended up buying some black berries, and when I got home the first thing I did was wash them and proceded to devour the delicious fruits. The problem was that they were very bitter and I didn't want to throw my money in the trash so I decided to make them into a smoothie. All it took was three ingredients and a blender! Now you will never have to go to a cafe, or Jumba Juice, and wait forever for a smoothie, and you won't have to pay four dollars too!

I Fail!

To my millions of followers (by millions I mean my mom, and maybe my dad if a soccer game isn't on) I have disappointing news! I have caved in today and decided not to cook myself dinner. I know you are probably thinking, "told you she couldn't go a week without eating a cheeseburger!" Not that I mean to stop your thought process, but stop right there! One I did not eat a cheeseburger!. Today I have to choose between three of this "delectable" frozen dinners.

After much contemplation I chose the Lean Cuisine, and I have finally discovered why they call it LEAN Cuisine. After eating the measly portion of food that was in the box in a record breaking 10 minutes I was left unsatisified. I paid four dollars for this box of food, so I demand I get my moneys worth. I was so hungry I even contemplated eating my other two choices. Never again Lean Cuisine.....NEVER AGAIN! Despite the small portions, and my constant venting, as far as frozen food goes it was pretty decent. Plus the beer helped a lot too. And before someone goes off and calls the cops I would like to say that despite my young adolescent face I am 21. I mean what's a cheap meal without a cold beer?

What...

Attention ladies and gentlemen! I have committed a crime, and it tasted so good! Being half italian I love pasta. Pasta with meatballs, pasta with tomato sauce, pasta with alfredo sauce, pasta with butter...I think you catch my drift. So to my utter horror, when I called my mother to ask what is the easiest pasta I could make, she told me pasta with tuna. TUNA! Now I love fish, but mixing it with spaghetti seemed like a sin, kind of like eating a fish taco. Even though I had my doubts I none-the-less agreed to try the recipe, and to my surprise I loved it!

Now before you leave this page because it looks like something you would feed to your pig, I urge you to stop! Yes, I agree that it does not look appetizing, but like most things that look bad, it is actually very good. To anyone who has ever eaten a gyro, or meatloaf, or a sloppy joe; some things are worth trying.
All you need is a skillet.

A regular pan to boil the water for your spaghetti. By the way I found that when cooking your pasta it always taste better if you add a little bit of olive oil and salt to the water before adding your pasta.

It also helps if you happen to own a pan that comes with its very own strainer, but it isn't necessary. And lastly you just need the proper ingredients!

Combine all of these together and you have the perfect weapons for your cooking arsenal!

Wannabe Chef

Growing up in a Latin household my mother always yelled at me to learn how to cook. I of course did what every teen does when their parents talk to them, I ignored her. I didn't see the point of learning to cook, I mean come on, I have my mother, it is after all her duty to cook for me. I never factored in the future. Nowhere in my dumb adolescent mind was there a inkling of doubt that I would move out of my parents house. Then I turned 18; I could not leave fast enough. So as I made my way to college I began to realize that the food they served us in the dinning hall on Senior Preview Day was all a lie! That's right a lie. We had been hoodwinked, bamboozled, tricked, deceived.......I ran out of synonyms and I'm too lazy to look at a thesaurus. So here I am a junior and I am very displeased to admit that I probably eat a total of 10 cheeseburgers a week. I know you're probably asking yourself, "Well why don't you just eat a salad?" Well first of all don't judge me, and second of all who wants to eat a bland salad (said is a Spongebob voice) when they can eat a CHEESEBURGER?! That's like asking who do you want to date Channing Tatum or Smeagol. So I have come to conclusion that for me to become healthier, and to stop running the risk of dying prematurely due to having a high cholesterol, is to learn how to cook! Yes, I shall conform to my mother's wishes. So join me as I fail to cook my way through my mothers cook book of Brazilian delicacies. I assure you, you won't cease to be amused. I mean what's funnier than watching someone burn water?
